Make allyship something we practice

A voluntary peer-learning program for Northstar Services employees who want to listen, learn, and try practical actions together.

Fictional sample program: Northstar Services. Start with one conversation or explore the learning prompts, everyday commitments, and ways to participate.

A place to learn, not to perform

The program is a series of voluntary peer conversations. You do not need to arrive with perfect language or expert answers. Bring curiosity, listen to the people in the room, and leave with one practical action to try.

For example, a group might discuss how meeting agendas are shared, notice who has time to prepare, and test one small change at its next meeting.

A first conversation, in practice

A sample 30-minute peer session

  1. 5 min

    Choose one prompt

Ask: “Whose perspective might be missing from this decision, and how could we invite it?”
  2. 5 min

    Agree on how to talk

Make room for people to pass, avoid interrupting, and discuss ideas without asking anyone to speak for a whole group.
  3. 15 min

    Listen and reflect

Invite examples from work situations. Ask a follow-up question before offering a solution.
  4. 5 min

    Choose one action

Each person names one observable behavior to try, such as sharing an agenda earlier or returning the floor after an interruption.
