Review a time entry before requesting a correction

Compare the time record with the work date and shift you are checking. In the fictional Northstar Services example, an employee notices that Tuesday’s closing shift has no end punch. They confirm the date and shift, then use the approved correction process to request a review.

Prepare and submit a time-entry issue

Use your organization’s approved timekeeping correction route.

  1. 1

    Open the time record

Review the dates and entries for the pay period that includes the shift.

  2. 2

    Identify the shift

Note the work date and shift so the entry can be found.

  3. 3

    Describe the issue

State whether a punch is missing or appears incorrect, and include time information you can verify.

  4. 4

    Submit for review

Use the approved correction process and keep any confirmation that process provides.
